Dalton’s girls, boys track & field teams win Toby Grim Relays

Dalton High School’s boys and girls track and field teams took home honors from the Toby Grim Relays May 6.

Dalton’s girls (122) won, followed by Norton (79), Sandy Valley (73) and Coventry (45).

On the boys side, Dalton (116) finished first. Norton (92) was second, Coventry (76) placed third and Sandy Valley (40) was fourth.

Dalton was first with a combined score of 238. Norton followed with 171, Coventry was third with 121 and Sandy Valley was fourth with 113.

Dalton’s girls took first place in shot put, discus and pole vault.

The team also won the shuttle hurdle, the 4×100 meter relay, 4x800m relay,4x200m relay, 4x400m relay, medley hurdle, sprint medley and distance medley.

The distance medley team of Bailey Chenevey, Aly Jackson, Emberlynn Nolt and Addesa Miller set a new record with a time of 13:32.91.

On the boys side, Dalton came in first for shot put, discus, pole vault and long jump. They also won the 4x100m relay, 4x800m relay, 4x200m relay, sprint medley and distance relay. Jordan Muth, Evan Hodkinson, Mitchell Kutz and Lucas Oswald made up the record-setting distance relay team that finished in 11:08.93.
