Dalton boys track and field wins WCAL; girls team places second

Dalton’s boys track team won the WCAL championship.

Dalton’s Brianna Chenevey won the 100m, the 400m and the 200m dash.

Dalton High School’s track team had a phenomenal day competing at the WCAL Championship.

Overall, the boys team finished first and the girls team finished second.

Here are some of the outstanding performances:

Sophomore Brianna Chenevey won the 100m dash, the 400m dash, and the 200m dash. Fellow sophomore Lauren Clos placed second in the 100m dash, the 400m dash, and the 200m dash. The girls won the 4x400m relay with a team consisting of Clos, Miki Fath, Amelia Knetzer, and Chenevey. The girls placed second in the 4x800m relay with a team consisting of Bailey Chenevey, Fath, Emberlynn Nolt, and Addesa Miller.

Senior Ozzie Miller won the 100m dash and the 200m dash. Freshman Adam Soehnlen placed second in the 300m hurdles. Junior Jordan Muth placed 2nd in the 400m dash.

The 4×100 relay team won with Miller, Adam Marthey, Dillon Horst, and Adam Knetzer. Senior Evan Hodkinson won the 800m run and set a new WCAL meet record with a time of 1:57.34. Horst, Boyd Elett, Marthey, and Knetzer placed second in the 4x200m relay. Jordan Muth, Lucas Oswald, Horst, and Jordan Wenger won the 4x400m relay. Senior Mitchell Kutz placed 2nd in the 3200m run. Kutz, Muth, Oswald and Wenger placed 2nd in the 4x800m.
