DGKN staff report

DALTON  A Memorial Day parade in the village this year will look somewhat more traditional than last year, but some modifications are still being planned to keep the community safe during these unusual times.

Dalton High School’s marching band will participate in the parade this year. Units will step off at 10 a.m.

Registration is not necessary. Anyone who would like to participate can meet at the high school before the parade steps off. Children are welcome to decorate their bicycles and participate in the parade – each child must have adult supervision.

The route includes south on Mill, west on Main and north on Church ending at Dalton Elementary. Units will stop at the corner of Main and Church for the playing of “Taps.”

Other area events:

  • West Lebanon United Methodist Church will have a brief Memorial Day service at 11 a.m. near the Honor Roll in the church parking lot, weather permitting (bring a lawn chair). In case of rain, the service will be in the church.

Send your Memorial Day services, activities and events to thedaltongazette@gmail.com.
