Winkler, Juana P.
ORRVILLE — Juana P. Winkler, age 82, of Orrville and North Ft. Myers, FL, died Monday, June 14, 2021, at her home in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Juana was born on April 16, 1939, in Akron, to the late Robert F. and Mary E. (Garnes) Nunez, graduated from Akron South High School in 1957, and married Raymond James Winkler Sr. on July 20, 1959, in Wadsworth. Raymond died on September 6, 2017.
She worked as a Manager of Retail Sales for Lawsons for 5 years, raised her family, and then worked at the Red Sox spring training facility in Ft. Myers, FL for 25 years, retiring in 2020.
Juana was a member of Joy Baptist Church in Orrville. She enjoyed gospel music, football, baseball, traveling and fishing. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are four sons, Raymond J. (Dreama) Winkler Jr. and Martin D. Winkler, both of Orrville, Daniel M. (Danelle) Winkler and David P. (Claire) Winkler, both of Norton; grandchildren, Matthew, Alex, and Olivia Winkler; great grandchildren, Owen and Caden Trivette, and Lizzie Chong; four sisters, Gracinda Sams, Roberta (Jerry) Schoolcraft, Gloria Herron, and Aurora Metzger; a brother, John (DeeDee) Nunez; three sister-in-laws, Karen Nunez, Ronda Brown, and Roda (Bill) Rose; and her faithful dog(s), Luke.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Zita Brown, Elvita Elliot, and Laura Cunningham; and brothers, Manuel Nunez and Sonny Pedro.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, at Joy Baptist Church, 11095 Old Lincoln Way E., Orrville, with Pastor Doug Wilcox officiating. Burial will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
