Wiles, Karen L.

Aynor, SC — Karen L. Wiles, age 72, of Aynor, SC, formerly of Canton, OH, died Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Portside at Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach, SC, following a period of declining health.
Karen was born on February 17, 1949, in Canton, Ohio, to the late A.W. and Velma Ruth (Snyder) Ketchum, graduated from East Canton High School in 1967, and received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Kent State University in 1975.  She married Rene J. Wiles on April 28, 1973, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Canton, where she was a lifelong member. Rene survives.
She worked as a Registered Nurse for 35 years in several hospitals and nursing homes, finishing her career in home care in Ohio and Tennessee.
Karen was a member of Friends of Corvair Car Club in North Canton. She enjoyed lawn work, camping, boating, fishing, and just spending time outdoors.  She loved her immediate and extended family. She was passionate about her occupation and she will be remembered as a nurse with compassion and a heart for her patients.
In addition to her husband, Rene, she is survived by two sons, Matthew and Mark Wiles, both of SC; a grandson, Bradley Wiles of SC; and a brother, LaVerne (Betsy) Ketchum of East Canton.
Friends and family are welcome to attend services which will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, in the mausoleum at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, 5001 Everhard Road NW, Canton, with Pastor John Wright officiating and will be live streamed at facebook.com/AubleFuneralHome.
