Robinson, Rita
Orrville — Rita Robinson, age 93, of Orrville, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Johnstown Pointe Nursing Home in Johnstown, following a period of declining health.
Rita was born on December 3, 1927, in Shiloh, Ohio, to the late Fred and Bertha (Dewiel) Reber and graduated from Shelby High School in 1946. She married Clare L. Robinson on September 14, 1946, in Shelby. Clare died on January 29, 1990.
She spent her life making her house a home and taking care of her children.
Rita was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, and was a Cub Scout Den mother. She enjoyed going to gospel concerts, the state and county fairs with Terry and Richard and Orrville Community concerts with John. Rita was passionate about volunteering for the church especially by helping to provide the tapes of church services for the shut ins. She loved crocheting, gardening, sewing, and spending time with family.
Surviving are three sons, Terry (Judy) Robinson of Mansfield, John (Linda) Robinson of Cortland, and Richard (Loretta Rexroad) Robinson of Orrville; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Steven Robinson of Westerville, Christen (Greg) Benua of Westerville, Michael (Elizabeth) Robinson of Wooster, and Tom (Denise Stryker) Robinson of Orrville; five great grandchildren, Sarah, Evan, Alex, Ethan, and Gabe; and two special great-grandchildren, Avery and Allie Penn.
She was preceded in death by her husband; both parents; and two sisters, Alma Curry, and Hazel Wheatcraft.
Friends may call on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1556 Rex Drive, Orrville, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dennis O. Rinehart officiating. Burial will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Orrville Community Band, donations made to John Robinson 19 Eagle Pointe Dr. Cortland, OH 44410.
