Amstutz, Sandra Sue
Sandra Sue Amstutz, 73, of Kidron, died Friday, July 23, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, following a period of declining health.
She was born June 21, 1948 in Wooster to Gordon D. and Blanche L. (Graber) Sprunger. She married John L. Amstutz on December 24, 1972. He survives and was a faithful husband and caregiver.
She graduated from Dalton High School in 1966 and from Massillon City Hospital School of Nursing in 1969. Upon graduation, she was employed as a Registered Nurse at Massillon Community Hospital until 1993 and then the Wayne County Health Department until her retirement in 2011.
She was a member of Salem Mennonite Church in Kidron where she enjoyed being the accompanist for the youth choirs until her illness. She also enjoyed participating in Women In Mission knotting comforters. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and attending an occasional swim meet when able.
She will be greatly missed by her husband John; daughters, Jennifer (Rodney) Hall of Logan, Ohio and Jill (Andrew) Hostetler of Dalton, Ohio; granddaughters, Grace and Nora Hostetler; a sister, Jane (Jerry) Koontz; a brother, Robert K. (Barbara) Sprunger; and nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held at Salem Mennonite Church with Pastor Kevin Himes officiating. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
