Mattie A. Yoder, 84, of 10651 Lautenschlager Road, Apple Creek, died on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family following a period of declining health.
She was born on February 12, 1937 in Holmes County to Andrew and Emma (Weaver) Troyer and married Andrew A. “Sep” Yoder on January 19, 1961. He died on December 23, 2005. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She is survived by children, Barbara (Mervin A.) Hershberger, Esther (Allen E.) Hershberger, Ida (Dwayne) Schlabach, and Dannie (Leah) Yoder, all of Apple Creek; 25 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dan (Betty) Troyer of Orrville, Henry (Elma) Troyer of Apple Creek, and Andy Jr. (Iva) Troyer of Orrville; sisters, Nettie (Eli) Troyer of Apple Creek, Lizzie (Robert) Yoder of Morley, MI, Esther (Amos) Miller of Gallia County, and Emma (John) Miller of Fredericksburg; sisters-in-law, Esther D. Troyer and Ella D. Troyer of Fredericksburg; brother-in-law, Abe D. Yoder of Fredericksburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nora Hershberger; brothers, Abe and Melvin Troyer; and a sister, Mary Yoder.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 9:30 am at the Allen Hershberger residence, 10499 Lautenschlager Road, Apple Creek with Bishop Dannie Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Troyer Cemetery in East Union Township. Friends may call anytime after 12:00 pm on Monday at the Allen Hershberger residence. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
