Showalter, Glenn W.
Dalton — Glenn W. Showalter, age 87, of Dalton, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, August 7, 2021.
Glenn was born on June 22, 1934, in Waynesburg, Ohio, to the late D. Warren and Gladys (Moomaw) Showalter and graduated from Dalton High School in 1952. He married Lavina Ruth Graber on April 20, 1957, at Oak Grove Mennonite Church in Smithville.
He worked at Gerber Feed in Dalton and then continued helping his sons, Rod and Roger, on the family farms.
Glenn was a member of Kidron Mennonite Church and the Wayne County Farm Bureau. He was passionate about farming, mowing and trucking.
Surviving are his wife Lavina Ruth Showalter; two sons, Rod (Nancy) Showalter, Roger Showalter; daughter, Rhonda (Andy) Cossick of Wadsworth; four grandchildren, Lori and Brian Showalter, Rachel and Kurt Cossick; sister, Waneta Denton; two brothers, Carl (Nancy) Showalter, Harold (Linda) Showalter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, D. Warren Showalter; mother, Gladys Showalter; and brother-in-law, Victor Denton.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
