Pendlebury, Viola R.

Smithville — Viola R. Pendlebury , age 100, of Smithville, died Saturday, August 14, 2021, in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Viola was born on January 1, 1921, in Six Mile Run, Pennsylvania, to the late Hobert and Edna (O’Neil) Spencer and married Richard Pendlebury Jr.on June 3, 1949, in Winchester, Virginia.
She worked as a Meat Wrapper for Sheller Meats in Smithville for 20 years, retiring in 1984.
Viola was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church. She enjoyed going to and having garage sales, making treasure crochets for the family, canning anything from the garden especially tomatoes, loved to eat red beets, and loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Spencer of Fresno, CA, and Audrey (Norman) Beery of Orrville; two sons, Richard (Dee) Pendlebury III. of Fredericksburg, and Robert (Denise) Pendlebury of Millersburg; 14 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and two arriving in November.
In addition, to her husband Richard, she was preceded in death by brothers, Willard, William, Sonny, Robert, and Ronald Spencer, sisters, Mildred Stevensons, Peg Johnson, and infant sister, Jessafay.
Burial will take place at Smithville Cemetery.
