Brenneman, Wilmer E. “Wimp”

Orrville — Wilmer E. “Wimp” Brenneman, age 91, of Orrville, died Monday, October 4, 2021, at Autumnwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rittman, following a period of declining health.
Wimp was born on August 25, 1930, in Marshallville, to the late Amandus and Beulah (Ryals) Brenneman, graduated from Orrville High School in 1948, and earns a Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University in 1952.  He then served as a Captain, Fighter Pilot, and Naval Flight Instructor in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.  He married Julia “Susan” Cairnie on August 25, 1951, in Orrville.
He worked as a Sales Manager for Magnipower in Wooster.
Wilmer was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and poker. He loved spending time with family and friends and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Rib.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; six children, Cornelia (Charley) Kasik of Milwaukee, WI, Robert (Joelyn) Brenneman of Cincinnati, Julia Mitchell of Bath, Emilie Judy of Medina, Timothy (Sarah) Brenneman of Orrville, and Elizabeth (Curtis) Wolfe of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Jessica, Melanie, Megan, Zach, Ryan, Jason, Aleen, Susanne, Lucus, Julia, Elizabeth, Zachary, Jacob and Samuel; great grandchildren, Olivia, Miles and Lorelai; and sister, Carolyn (Ronald) Kinney of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dale A. Mitchell; and siblings, Mary Day, Cleon Brenneman, Selma Blackwood, and Amandus Brenneman, Jr.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth, in a private ceremony, where military rites will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
