Yoder, Katie Mae

Katie Mae Yoder, 88, of Orrville, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at her daughter’s home following a period of declining health.

She was born in Holmes County on December 21, 1932 to the late John J. and Mary S. (Miller) Schlabach and married Eli R. Yoder on January 24, 1957.  He died July 5, 2010.
Out of this union were born 5 sons and a daughter, Ervin (Annie) Yoder of Orrville, Albert (Edna) Yoder of Millersburg, Joe (Bonnie) Yoder of Orrville, Delbert (Brenda) Yoder of Orrville, Wayne (Nancy) Yoder of Orrville, and Mary (Eli) Miller of Orrville; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother, Ray (Emma) Schlabach of Guthrie, KY; sister, Lydiann (Mahlon) Hostetler of Apple Creek; and a sister-in-law, Mary Schlabach.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Alvin, Ervin, Mose and Sam.
She was a member of the Amish Church.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and spending time with family.
Due to current health concerns, the Yoder family requests that anyone who is feeling ill in any way or has any known COVID-19 exposure within the past 21 days to respectfully refrain from attending the visitation or funeral. The Yoder family welcomes your thoughts and prayers and your visits after you’re feeling well.
The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare for their kind and considerate care during the past weeks.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:00 AM at the Eli Miller Residence, 12714 Goudy Road, Orrville, with Bishop Enos Miller officiating.  Burial will be in the Erb Cemetery in East Union Township, Wayne County.  Friends may call anytime after 4:00 pm on Sunday and anytime on Monday. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling arrangements.
