Mrs. Vacha was nominated because of her dedication and devotion to all her art students. She has created a classroom where students feel welcome and successful. She wants every child to know they matter and are capable of anything. Mrs. Vacha goes above and beyond when it comes to helping every child

1. What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools.

I love the community support, families and students that I’m blessed to work with at Dalton. I also appreciate the great staff and administration I get to work with everyday.

2. How did you get to where you are today?

I attended Southeast Local Schools and graduated from Waynedale High School. I attended and graduated from Ashland University with a degree in Art Education. I have 35 years of experience teaching art, 32 years at Dalton. My Elementary art teacher, Jenna Berg, inspired me to become an art teacher.

3. Tell us one interesting little fact about yourself that people would be surprised to hear.

I began my teaching career at Garaway Local Schools. I taught Kindergarten through 12th grade at Garaway, was an Advisor for the Art Club, and also helped as a Junior Class Advisor to host prom. This was a very busy and exciting year. I learned a lot and grew as a teacher.
