Ramseyer, Myron L. “Mick”

STERLING — Myron L. “Mick” Ramseyer, age 75, of Sterling, died Saturday, December 11, 2021, at his home in Sterling, following a period of declining health.
Myron was born January 24, 1946, in Wadsworth, to the late Roy and Kathryn (Truex) Ramseyer, graduated from Norwayne High School in 1964, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ashland College in 1968.  He married Myrna Louise Nussbaum on August 15, 1970, in the Smithville Mennonite Church and she survives.
Myron taught at Sterling Elementary School two years, a year at Central Christian, and then worked at the Wayne County Schools Career Center for 32 years, retiring in 2000.
Myron was an active member of Crown Hill Mennonite Church where he formerly served on the Manor Board, and several other Church Committees. He enjoyed fishing, flower and vegetable gardening, working on his 10-year anniversary Trans Am, and operating PorkBerry Farm until “retiring” in 2018.
In addition to his wife, Myrna, he is survived by five children, Jeff (Michelle) Ramseyer of Jeromesville, Steve (Kelly) Ramseyer of Sebring, Amy (Rob) Greathouse of Smithville, Richard (Ally) Ramseyer of Sonora, TX, and Neil (Anne) Ramseyer of Marshallville; 28 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and four siblings, John (Martha) Ramseyer of Sterling, Jane (Jay) Lehman of Orrville, Dean Ramseyer of Orrville, and Eric (Roxie) Ramseyer of Kidron.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and David Ramseyer.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 16th, at Crown Hill Mennonite Church, 9693 Benner Road, Rittman, with Pastors Thomas Dunn and Dan Hooley officiating.  Friends may call from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, prior to the service. Per Myron’s wishes, cremation will take place prior to the services.
