It was another great weekend of wrestling for the Bulldogs at the WIT in Smithville, according to Head Coach Kenton Lemon. Four Dalton wrestlers placed in the top 6: Greyson Siders, 1st place; Micah Boyer, 2nd place; Sean Geiser, 2nd place, Branyan Zaleski, 4th place.

“Everyone gave great effort this weekend,” Lemon wrote in an email. “Tate Geiser and Austin Ryder were both invited to wrestle at arguably one of the toughest tournaments in the country (Walsh Jesuit Ironman). These two guys had great seasons last year which qualified them for a great tournament in the Ironman. While things did not go as we had hoped they would, we were extremely fortunate to gain this experience.”

Lemon touched on how Dalton’s middle school team did over the weekend. The younger Bulldogs finished second at the Chippewa invitational missing first place by only nine points. “This was a huge feat considering they only filled nine weight classes,” Lemon wrote.

“We need to have another great week of practice and continue to build our gas tank and our technique,” Lemon wrote. “We have a lot to build on from these first two weeks of the season and have another great weekend of competition lined up with The North Canton Hoover Holiday invite, the Chardon JV tournament and the middle school will be in Orrville at the Jack Leeder Classic.
