After a slow start to the season, Dalton High School’s varsity girls basketball team found their rhythm during a 56-16 conquest over host Rittman Dec. 9.
Addesa Miller led the way with 19 points and six rebounds. Kylee Johnson added 11 points and grabbed three boards. Kendall Maibach totaled eight points and four rebounds. Sydney Geiser put up six points and one rebound. Sarah Witmer finished with five points and one board. Mia Weaver collected four points and three rebounds. Maddy West had three points and two rebounds. Marley Clark pulled two rebounds.
“We needed to get a win and our girls went to Rittman with that mentality,” said Dalton’s head coach Katie Miller. “All of our players contributed in some way. It was a needed and great team win for a week with only one game.”
During halftime of the Lady Dawgs’ varsity game Dec. 23 against Hillsdale, the Dalton Little Dribblers will show off their skills to the crowd. The Little Dribblers team is made up of girls in kindergarten, first grade and second grade. Fans are encouraged to come see the future generation of Dalton basketball.
“Our Little Dribblers are future Lady Bulldogs,” said Katie Miller. “They have been practicing once a week to prepare for their performance.”
