Donna J. Merriman

DALTON – Donna J. Merriman, age 62,  passed away on December 20, 2021.

Born on April 15, 1959 in Newport News, VA to Jack and Reta (Ratliff) Rutherford, she was a resident of Dalton for 33 years.  Donna was employed by the Wayne County Health Department for 9 years and had previously been a teacher with Kingsway Christian School. A member of Orrville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, she loved to talk and make new friends. It has been said “She never met a stranger”.

Preceded in death by her father, Jack Rutherford, she is survived by her husband of 33 years, John; sons, Joshua and Jared Merriman of Dalton; daughters, Rachel (Brett) Cote and Valerie (Jacob) Metz of Mason, OH; grandchildren, Parker and Lillian Cote, Molly, Jackson and Emme Metz; mother, Reta Rutherford of Marion, OH; brothers and sisters in-laws; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Orrville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 300 S. Walnut St., Orrville, OH 44667 with Pastor Paul Simonsen, officiating.  Burial to take place at Dalton Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Orrville Christian and Missionary Alliance, Great Commission Fund.
