Dawgs handle Bears

DALTON  Braylon and Jalen Wenger combined for 55 points as they led Dalton High School’s boys varsity basketball team to a 69-53 home win over Waynedale Dec. 21.

This win improved the Dawgs’ overall record to 5-1 and put them at 4-0 against WCAL teams.

Braylon Wenger recorded 29 points, five rebounds and one assist in the win. His older brother, senior Jalen Wenger, wasn’t too far behind and totaled 26 points, four boards and three assists.

Kyrie Gaut added eight points, four rebounds and five assists.

The Dawgs also excelled on defense against the Golden Bears. Jaden Schlabach grabbed 11 boards in addition to his offensive contributions of four points and three rebounds. Quentin Lehman pulled down nine boards. Grayson Lehman had three rebounds. Justin Basinger, Colin Pearson and Braden Fiesler all had one rebound.
