Phillips, Justin David “JD”

Apple Creek — Justin David “JD” Phillips, age 33, of Apple Creek, died Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a one month battle with COVID.

Justin was born on June 29, 1988, in Orrville, to John David Phillips and Cheryl (Moore) Phillips and attended Orrville High School.

He worked as a grill cook for McDonald’s on Lincoln Way in Wooster.

Justin was a music enthusiast and he loved playing drums, guitar, and going to concerts. He also collected vintage video games and systems.  He will be remembered for his shenanigans, making people laugh, and never judging others or taking life too serious.   Most of all, Justin loved being a father and he will be missed by his son and family.

Surviving are his son, Acayo Phillips and his mother Staci (Kurtis) Duran of Orrville; father, John David Phillips of Apple Creek; sister, Krista Derrickson of Wooster; nephew, Oliver Smith; niece, Charley Smith, maternal grandmother, Rose Sidwell, of Orrville; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved dog, Otto; .

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl Moore Phillips; and close cousin, Christopher A. Wenger.

A Celebration of Justin’s Life will be held from 3 to 5 pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2021, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville.
