Paul “Pappy” E. Knode

Orrville — Paul “Pappy” E. Knode, age 75, of Orrville, died Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, following a period of declining health.
Paul was born on September 19, 1946, in North Lawrence, Ohio, to the late Paul and Mary (Schmidt) Knode, he attended Orrville High School, and served as a Specialist Fourth Class in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.  He married Donna Ring on June 20, 1981, in Smithville. Donna survives.
He worked as a machine operator for The Wil-Burt Company for 30 plus years, retiring in 2012.
Paul enjoyed fishing, watching Western movies, loved spending every moment he could with his family, was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather, and enjoyed spending time in his garage doing wood work and tinkering with anything.
In addition to Donna, he is survived by his four children, David Knode of Seville, Matt (Sandy) Boswell of Canton, Amy Stutler of Canton, and Tony (Patricia) Knode of Wooster; multiple grandkids and great grandkids; two brothers, Dale (Jan) Knode of Wooster, and John (Paula) Knode of Marshallville; two sisters, Waunita Butzer of Orrville, and Donna (Bob) Casey of Wooster; and brother-in-law, Ron Shinn of Dalton.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Leta Shinn, and Dottie Knode.
Friends may call on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, at Auble Funeral Home, with Pastor Kevin O’Brien officiating. Burial will take place at the Newmans Creek Cemetery in North Lawrence, where military rites will be observed.
