Creston man dies after two-vehicle crash in Baughman Twp.

BAUGHMAN TWP.  A Creston man was pronounced dead Tuesday shortly after the Jeep he was driving collided with a pickup truck at an intersection in the township.

Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the two-vehicle crash. Alcohol appears to be a factor, according to a news release, and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, which is the first fatal crash in Wayne County this year.

A 43-year-old Orrville man was operating a 2013 Toyota Tacoma pickup traveling south on state Route 57. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Marcos M. Chable, 35, of Creston, was operating a 2004 Jeep Liberty sport utility vehicle. He was transported to Aultman Orrville Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.

Initial investigation revealed Chable was traveling west on Township Road 221 (Fox Lake Road) and failed to yield from a stop sign at the intersection with State Route 57 (Wadsworth Road). The driver of the Tacoma was traveling south on state Route 57 and struck Mr. Chable in the passenger side. Both vehicles then traveled off of
the west side of the roadway on State Route 57 into a ditch.

Assisting on scene were the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Orrville Police Department, Orrville Fire and EMS, Reed’s Towing, and the Wayne County Coroner Office.
