WAYNE COUNTY NEWS: Bow Wow Ball set for Feb. 12
The biggest fundraiser of the year to support the Wayne County Dog Shelter is being presented by PAWS (Promoting Animal Welfare for the Shelter) and will take place 5:30-9:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at The Pines Golf Club and Restaurant, 1319 Millborne Rd., Orrville, according to a county news release.
The evening features:
* 5:30 p.m. cash bar and Hors d’oeuvres
* 6 p.m. buffet dinner
* 7 p.m. presentation
* 7:30 p.m. live auction
* 8:30 p.m. social hour and dancing
Tickets for the event are $40 per person or $300 for a table of eight; the dress is business casual or semi-formal.
Those unable to attend the in-person ball may still support the shelter by purchasing a Bow Wow Box through Jan. 31 or by participating in the popular wine and bourbon grab, the news release states. Bow Wow Boxes are being sold through Jan. 31 at the cost of $30 each. Boxes include a $15 gift certificate to a participating restaurant (Basil, City Square, The Leaf, TJ.s, or Jerry’s in Orrville) and will be available for pickup on Feb. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the dog shelter, 5694 Burbank Road, Wooster.
Another way to support stray dogs in Wayne County is by participating in the wine and bourbon grab. This unique option allows the participant to purchase a chance to select a premium bottle of wine or bourbon. The cost is $10 for a wine selection and $40 for bourbon. Each buyer will choose a number that corresponds to a predetermined bottle. Numbers will be available to purchase on Feb. 5 at the shelter.
Various sponsorships opportunities are also available. Proceeds from the event help cover medical costs for more than 500 dogs taken in by the shelter each year, including heart worm treatment, disease, broken bones, and other medically necessary procedures.
