The Orrville Salvation Army-Maiwurm Service Center is thankful to the army of volunteers that rang the bell this season to collect money at red kettles at area businesses to help those in need.
“It would be an understatement to say we had a spectacular Red Kettle Season,” wrote Bethany S. Fuller, executive director, Orrville Salvation Army-Maiwurm Service Center, in a news release. “We had the largest Red Kettle Season ever! Our community has completely broken all past records! We were blessed to have six large kettle locations at Orrville Buehler’s, Marshallville Packing, Dutch Kitchen, Lehman’s Hardware, P. Graham Dunn, and Kidron Town & Country Store. We also had 43 small counter kettles around our community in Orrville, Dalton, Kidron, and Marshallville at different stores, restaurants, and business. Our 2021 goal of $27,000 was exceeded and an amazing grand total of $31,011.18 was raised this year!
“We recorded over 525 hours of volunteer bell ringing hours this year,” Fuller continued. “With the ongoing challenges we continue to face and COVID cases on the rise, this again is a statement about the concern for others in our communities! Without your help, we would not be able to serve our community in all we do. You are a huge part of making a difference in our community!”
