Arlene Kandel Brubaker
Arlene, 74, died Friday January 21, 2022 peacefully, suddenly, and unexpectedly, in her home with her husband of 55 years by her side. She was recently diagnosed with PSP – Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy (curepsp.org). She was born August 1, 1947 to Eli and Edna (Mast) Kandel in Dalton, OH. She married Willie Brubaker on October 22, 1966. Surviving are two daughters – Kimberly (Marvin) Gibson of Orrville and Tonya (Michael) Dean of Davidsville, PA and three Dean grandsons, Matthias, Mason and Malachi, and siblings Mary (Clayton) Lehman, Norman (Jan) Kandel and Trish (Carl) Phillips. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin (Esther) and LeRoy (Martha).
Arlene was the engine that ran her family, keeping us organized and staying on top of everything. She loved her family and friends, especially her close grade school friends, the 49ers and took seriously the task of bringing fun with her wherever she went – including teaching her girls how to TP. She helped with GMSA and Youth as a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, North Lawrence.
With 25 years of service at the Dalton Dari-ette, and then Daylight Donuts in Orville and Dentist Dr. Mark Gustafson in Wooster she made many friends and loved them all.
A private memorial will take place followed by a Celebration of Life for friends and family this Summer. Donation can be made to MCC Connections, PO Box 19 Kidron OH 44636.
Auble Funeral Home in Orrville is handling the arrangements. Online registry and expressions of condolence may be made at www.aublefuneralhome.com.
