DALTON – Herbert W. Jackson, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2022.
Born on June 26, 1939 in Cleveland to the late Herbert W. and Lillian (Dunkleman) Jackson, he was a resident of Dalton for 22 years, previously of Strongsville. Herbert started his career with Columbia Stone where he worked for 20 years as a stonecutter and fabricator. He then purchased the business in 1976 and operated it as American Natural Stone for another 20 years before he retired in 1996. Herbert attended Sonnenberg Mennonite Church and had a passion for auto restoration. He was proud of all the cars he took part in restoring
Preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Corey, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn; sons, Ron (Francine) Jackson of Glendale, AZ, Herbert (Sally) Jackson of Medina; grandchildren, Cole Jackson, Luke Fox, Abbi Jackson, Tyler (Savannah) Jackson, Thomas Jackson (Marissa Salviano), A.J. (Julia) Jackson, Rachel (Tyler) Lough; great grandchildren, Xander, Blake, Wesley and Warren; brothers, Robert (Kathy) Jackson, Paul (Sharon) Jackson; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Private services will be held by the family with burial to take place at Dalton Cemetery. A celebration of Herbert’s life will be held at a later date.
