Davis, Lawrence Jr.

Lawrence Davis Jr, age 77, of Canton, Ohio passed away early Saturday, January 15th, 2022. Lawrence, known as Larry to most, was born December 24th, 1944 to the late Lawrence Davis and Marilyn (Stebler) Davis.
Larry joined the United States Navy and went on to serve in the United States Navy Reserve. Following his service in the Navy, Larry attended Kent State University where he studied Psychology. Throughout his life he held several jobs, but his best and most beloved role was that of Grandfather and later Great-Grandfather. Larry enjoyed teaching his grandchildren about the importance of history, enjoying the small things, and the art of debate.
An avid reader and lover of Science Fiction, he was often seen reading or listening to one of his many favorite audiobooks. He additionally enjoyed spending time in nature, watching the Green Bay Packers, and going for long walks around town. Larry made a point to pass on his love for the outdoors, passion for reading, and willingness to speak his mind. He will be missed and remembered fondly by his loved ones, who enjoyed his quick-witted humor and stubborn personality.
Larry is survived by his sons, Lawrence Davis, Matthew Davis, and Jason Davis; daughter, Wendy Williams (Alex); Sisters, Mary (Ron) Rowland, and Susan (Bob) Wade; Nephews, Stephen Rowland, and Gerald VanMeter; nieces, Christina Newell, Melissa Wade, Lisa Annang, and Amy (Mike) Sarver; his close friend, Carol Sprunger Davis; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Laura Davis Ware.
A private Celebration of Life will be held by his family.
