Toledo — David B. Amstutz, age 72, of Toledo, died Saturday, January 22, 2022, at his residence in Toledo, following a short period of declining health.

David was born on March 21, 1949, in Wooster, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Mary (Zook) Amstutz and graduated from Central Christian High School in 1968 and Eastern Mennonite University in 1972.

He worked as a rail road operator for CSX Corporation.

David was a member of Toledo Choral Society. He enjoyed doing anything with the railroad, loved to travel and travel all over the world, liked to watch sports, and most important spending time with his family especially his nieces and nephews.

Surviving are sister, Joanne (Jan) Kauffman of Dalton; niece, Jeanine (Chris) Pachis; and nephew, Jared (Melinda) Kauffman.

Friends may call on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Smithville Mennonite Church, 6097 Akron Road, Smithville, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, at Smithville Mennonite Church, with Pastor Todd Martin officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at the Smithville Mennonite Cemetery in Smithville.
