Lady Dawgs hold Rittman to single field goal, lose close road game to Louisville Leopards

Dalton High School’s varsity girls basketball team started off the week with an easy win over Rittman. The week ended with a close loss to Louisville. The Lady Dawgs current overall record is 8-8 and they are 6-3 against WCAL teams.

Dalton held visiting Rittman to a single field goal during the Lady Dawgs’ 46-2 blowout Jan. 20. Addesa Miller guided Dalton with 15 points, four rebounds and one assist. Ella Lunsford finished with 11 points, three boards and two assists. Kylee Johnson contributed eight points, one rebound and one assist. Josslyn Reynolds and Ellie Miller combined for four points. Mia Weaver ripped down eight rebounds, scored two points and dished two assists. Maddy West secured four boards, in addition to scoring two points and dropping one dime. Sarah Witmer ended with three rebounds, two points and one assist. Da’Mareia Sampson and Kendall Maibach both had one point and two rebounds each. Sydney Geiser grabbed two rebounds.

The Lady Dawgs lost a close road game to Louisville 49-41 Jan. 22. Johnson was the top scorer with 15 points. Addesa Miller and Lunsford both had nine points each. Weaver finished with six points. Witmer scored two points.

The Lady Comets earned their first win 27-25 Jan. 21 over St. Peter’s at home.
