DEMS counselor
Reason for selection: Mrs. Carathers serves our K-8th graders with kindness and compassion. She is involved with each grade level to help all of our students grow academically, socially and emotionally at DEMS. We appreciate how hard she works to bring many different events and programs to our students. We are very thankful she is part of our DEMS community and all the great things she does for the students and staff.
1. What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools?
I enjoy my colleagues and being a part of a team that sincerely cares about the well-being of children.
2. How did you get to where you are today?
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Malone University. I have been employed by Dalton Local Schools since 2005. Prior to becoming a school counselor, I worked as a hospital social worker, prevention educator and school case manager.
3. Tell us one interesting little fact about yourself that people would be surprised to hear.
I have been skydiving.
