Troyer, Richard “Dick” Sr.

Dalton — Richard “Dick” Troyer Sr., age 75, of Dalton, formerly of Marshallville, died Friday, February 4, 2022, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a sudden period of declining health.
Richard was born on January 11, 1947, in Wadsworth, Ohio, to William and the late Marie (Horrisbeger) Troyer and graduated from Smithville High School in 1965 and worked as a journeyman machinist for Rubbermaid for 30+ years.
Richard enjoyed fishing, researching the family’s genealogy and tinkering with and fixing anything and everything.  He loved spending time with his grandkids, especially playing model trains with them and going to their sporting events.
Surviving are daughter, Rachel (Joseph) Copenhaver; son, Richard “Rick” Troyer, Jr.; grandchildren, Gavin, Brody, Alyssa, Sadie, and Joshua; six siblings, Judy (Lowell) Hilty, Donna (Mike) Gerber, Nan (Mike) Weaver, William “Bill” (Ann) Troyer, Pam Ramseyer, and Brent (Stacey) Troyer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dave Ramseyer.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at NOW Church Orrville Campus, 1235 Back Massillon Road, Orrville, from 11:00 am to 11:45 am.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, at the church, with Pastor Jim Copenhaver officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Mennonite Cemetery in Rittman.

    Though we lived in the same building, I really didn’t know Richard very well. When I would see him, always spoke to him and wished him well. He will be missed in the building.
