Killbuck Savings Bank Co. Superstar on Staff: Amy Greer
Amy Greer,
physical education grades 5-12
Reason for selection: Mrs. Greer takes a lot of pride and hard work for her students each day. Students enjoy her class and all the activities she creates for them to participate in. She is a huge part of our after school activities with coaching and athletics and displays great leadership within all of her roles at Dalton Local Schools. Thanks Mrs. Greer for all you do for our school community.
1. What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools?
I love being able to have fun and encourage students to be their best daily. I also appreciate that we are such a small district that we are able to have supportive, working relationships with all staff members. This kind of environment makes Dalton Local Schools unique and beneficial for all.
2. How did you get to where you are today?
My middle/high school physical education teacher Mrs. Crafton at Smithville was an awesome role model. She cared about all of her students and made pe a lot of fun. I started my college undergraduate at Bluffton College. After my second year I transferred to Walsh University where I earned a degree in Physical education. Eight years ago I earned my health education license online from Emporia University in Kansas. I also have a teaching endorsement in adapted physical education from Ashland University. I am currently working on my Masters degree from the University of Cincinnati in Sports Administration.
3. Tell us one interesting little fact about yourself that people would be surprised to hear.
My college coach at Bluffton for both cross country and track was Jodi Augspurger, DHS English teacher and CC and Track Coach. Now we teach and coach together. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her support 33 years ago.
