Abel, James “Jim”

Killbuck — James “Jim” Abel, age 58, of Killbuck, formerly of Orrville, died Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at his sister’s home after a long and brave battle with cancer.
Jim was born on November 14, 1963, in Orrville, Ohio, to William and the late Barbara (Reeves) Abel.
He graduated from Orrville High School in 1982 and worked as a Public Utilities Employee for the City of Orrville, Killbuck, Ohio Rural Water, and finally for the Village of Dalton, retiring in 2020.
Jim was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fixing up cars, guns, strumming on his guitar, and anything outdoors.  He loved woodworking, and even built his own house with help from his dad. He cherished spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are his father, William L. Abel; sister, Janice (Elmus) Boord; nephew, Joe (Taylor) Peterman; great-nephew, Brayden Peterman; niece, Jenny (Robin and his girls) Legge; great niece, Kelsey Legge; sister-in-law, Fran (Bill) Abel; and many lifelong friends.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, William L. Abel II; and his beloved yellow lab, Buck.
Cremation will take place and private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. A public Celebration of Life with a meal will be planned for a later date
