KILLBUCK SAVINGS BANK CO. SUPERSTAR ON STAFF: Kelsey Rowley

Kelsey Rowley,
school nurse at Dalton Local

Reason for selection: Mrs. Rowley is new to our district this year and has done a tremendous job with our students and staff. She was able to take on a lot of leadership with COVID-19 protocols and lead us through the situations that arose. She treats each child in our district with kindness and compassion and has a great rapport with them. We are excited that she is a part of Dalton Local Schools!

1. What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools?
This position is very different than my job working in the hospital setting. I really enjoy that I get to see the kids on some of their best days instead of some of their worst. I love the fact that the entire staff team truly care about the well-being of all the students. I would not be able to do my job effectively without all the staff members here in the district and I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to be able to be a part of this team.

2. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a 2012 Dalton graduate and I graduated from Kent State University with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2016.
I was a pediatric float nurse at Akron Children’s for the last five years and started working here at the school this summer after Diann King retired.

3. Tell us one interesting little fact about yourself that people would be surprised to hear.
I have always wanted to learn how to fly a helicopter.
