DMS Library/Tech/Ext. teacher
Reason for selection: Mrs. Oswald works with many if not almost all of our students with their school work on a daily basis. She has tremendous rapport with her students and they enjoy interacting with her. She is a team player and has a positive attitude each day at DMS and is a valuable part of the district. Congratulations Mrs. Oswald, it is well deserved!
1. What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools?
I love working with middle school students and staff! Middle school students are lots of fun, you never know what questions they’ll ask or story they’ll tell. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and so friendly. I can’t forget to mention our community. I know several staff have mentioned this before but we truly have an amazing community. We know how unique and special it is to have the support we do.
2. How did you get to where you are today?
I came to Dalton Elementary in second grade from Perry Local Schools, left for a year but ultimately came back in 4th grade and graduated from DHS. I have a bachelor degree in Finance from the University of Akron. I started substitute teaching at Dalton in 2012 and took on a full time position in 2016.
3. Tell us one interesting little fact about yourself that people would be surprised to hear.
I participated in a workout day with the Akron Aeros where I got to play different positions on the field and have batting practice in the batting cage. I also got to throw out the first pitch along side CC Sabathia.
