Softball season springs into action

Experience can play a big role in the success of a team and Dalton High School’s varsity softball team has plenty of experience. With eight seniors and four juniors, the Lady Dawgs have the potential for a strong season and to improve on last year’s 10-15 record.
Dalton lost five talented players to graduation last year, but this new group of seniors is ready to step up to fill the holes in the lineup. Cadence Casto is one senior to keep an eye on. She served as starting pitcher last season, where she pitched 92 innings and led the team in innings thrown.
Senior Vanessa Swartzentruber is set to be a force at first base.
