Cantate Singers to perform Spring Concert in April

DALTON   The Cantate Singers, a local vocal ensemble, is delighted to announce their upcoming Spring concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at Cornerstone Community Church, 18600 Davis Road, Dalton.
The theme of the concert is “Come to the Water” and will include the “Messe in F, Op 159” by Josef Rheinberger, “Sicut Cervus” by Giovanni de Palestrina, “By the Waters” by Dave and Jean Perry, “Come to the Water” by John Foley, S.J., “Wade in the Water” arranged by David Eddleman, and “I Will be a Child of Peace” by Elaine Hagenberg.
Having had the 2020 and 2021 seasons cancelled by the pandemic, this 50-voice ensemble is excited to be rehearsing in person again and look forwards to performing for the community, according to a news release.  The ensemble is directed by Laurel Labbe and accompanied by Ken Shafer.  Rehearsals are held weekly on Tuesday evenings at Oak Grove Mennonite Church about 10 weeks prior to each concert.
