DGKN staff report
KIDRON Kidron Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jon Peters said he has been asked almost on a daily basis if and when KVFD is going to have an open house for its new fire station on the square in Kidron.
Ever since the previous fire station and a couple other buildings were torn down to make room for the new updated fire station to meet the department’s needs, community members and passersby have been watching with interest as the new building has been taking shape the past few months. Thanks to community donations, the building is nearly complete and the fire station is announcing an open house.
A ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Cake and ice cream to celebrate are part of the festivities.
A large crowd must be anticipated. People are asked to park on the other side of the road at the Sprunger Building and a shuttle will be provided.
