DEKALB, IL – Justin Andrew Goudy, age 37, was escorted by angels into heaven on April 30, 2022.

Born on October 8, 1984 in Orrville, OH, he was a 2003 graduate of Dalton High School.  Justin had planned to pursue a career as a worship leader and youth pastor before choosing to enlist into the U.S. Army. He served his country in the Iraq War as a gunner until he was injured and medically retired in 2010. Justin’s true passion was music.  He taught himself to play guitar at an early age. He had an amazing talent as a song writer, guitarist, and a voice like no other and spent several years in Nashville TN pursuing his love of music. Justin was a master of building and fixing things and was an amazing chef. He loved his tractors and working in the dirt. Most importantly, Justin led many people to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He lived his life large and experienced so much in his brief time on earth. He will be greatly missed by so many who loved him. Justin is now Dancing with Angels.

Preceded in death by his father, Jesse E. Goudy in 2019, he is survived by his mother, Deborah Goudy (Ed Ault) of Smithville, OH; sister, Jenna (Shane) Berry of Burbank, OH; nephews, Jadon, Easton, and Jesse; grandmother, Catherine (Gerald) Kiner of Dalton; many aunts, uncles, other family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 11 a.m. at New Pointe Community Church, 1741 Oak Hill Rd., Wooster, OH, 44691 with Pastor Jonathan Wood, officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, OH.  Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to service on Friday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Farm at Whispering Grace Horses, 12882 Kimmens Rd.
