Tibbitts, Robert “Bob” Cecil

Orrville — Robert “Bob” Cecil Tibbitts, age 94, of Orrville, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at Danbury Senior Living Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Bob was born on March 18, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Cecil and Pearl (Hymers) Tibbitts, and attended Cleveland City School. He served as a Private in the United States Army during World War II; serving overseas in Japan.  Bob married Juanita Tester on May 26, 1951, in Easton, OH.
He worked as a roofing laborer for Edwards Roofing for 42 years, retiring in 1991.
Bob was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Masonic Order, Canton Antique Car Club, and the Orrville VFW. He enjoyed working outside in the yard, antique cars, golfing, and woodworking. He loved going to car shows and was an avid amateur photographer.
In addition to his wife, surviving are his two sons, David (Linda) Tibbitts of Orrville, and Ken (Ruth) Tibbitts of Orrville; four grandchildren, Emily (Adam) Carrington of Hillsdale, MI, Ben (Kathryn) Tibbitts of Akron, Nick (Danielle) Tibbitts of Lancaster, KY, and Sarah (Kaleb) Gregory of St. Louis, MO; seven great grandchildren, Abigail and Elizabeth Mary Carrington, Cecil, James, and Elanora Mae Gregory, and Amelia and Owen Tibbitts.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Blanch Morley and Hazel Rhine.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. David Rittgers officiating. Burial will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, where military rites will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church 1556 Rex Drive, Orrville, OH, 44667.
