ORRVILLE — Rick Allen Mairs, age 31, of Orrville, formerly of Wooster, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 3, 2022, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, following a six month battle with cancer.
Rick was born on July 21, 1990, to Steve and Cindy Mairs of Creston.
He married Melissa Nussbaum on October 1, 2016 and they have three children; Reese, Mollie, and Rhett.
Rick was a 2009 grauduate of Norwayne High School and the Wayne County Career Center Auto Tech program. He also attended Stark State Tech for Auto Mechanics. Rick was a mechanic at heart and by trade, working at Preferred Airparts in Apple Creek in their Structures Department refurbishing airplanes for over 10 years.
Rick enjoyed being outdoors and the agricultural and lawn care communities. He loved riding four-wheelers and spending time with friends and family. Rick loved his church family and was a member of West Hill Baptist in Wooster.
Along with his wife, children, and parents, Rick is survived by, maternal grandmother, Bonnie Fetzer of Creston; sister, Heather (Jeremy) Kokinda and nieces, Scarlett and JoJo Kokinda of Seville; father-in-law and mother-in-law Gene and Amy Nussbaum of Orrville; brother-in-law, Michael (Esther) Nussbaum, niece, Enya Nussbaum, nephews, Malachi and Ezra Nussbaum, sister-in-law, Melodie Nussbaum, and brother-in-law, Matthew (Megan) Nussbaum all of Orrville.
Rick deeply cared about the people in his life and considered many of his friends his family. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Rex and Zandra Mairs; and maternal grandfather, Gene Fetzer.
A special thank you to the doctors and staff at Wooster Community Hospital’s Progressive Care Unit, Seidmen Cancer Center of University Hospital Cleveland and LifeCare Hospice for their compassionate care of Rick during his final weeks on earth.

Friends may call on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at West Hill Baptist Church, 2241 Mechanicsburg Road , Wooster, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, at West Hill Baptist Church, Burial will take place at Martins Mennonite Cemetery in Orrville.
