Lax, Roberta “Bobbi Jo”

ORRVILLE — Roberta “Bobbi Jo” Lax, age 69, of Orrville, passed from this life to her real life with the help of the Lord on Friday, June 3, 2022, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, following a period of declining health.

Bobbi was born on August 14, 1952, in Wooster, to the late Merrill “Snooks” and Cleota (Sturgis) Smith, graduated from Waynedale High School in 1970, and married Jay D. Lax on July 2, 1971, in Mt. Eaton.

She worked as a secretary for North Street Elementary School in Orrville and later served as Medical Transcriptionist  for Dunlap and Wooster Hospitals for several years, retiring in 2005.

Bobbi enjoyed motor cycle rides with her husband, music, reading, and animals, especially her dogs.

Surviving are her husband Jay Lax; son, Jason (Michelle) Lax; and daughter, Jami Lax; all of Orrville; four granddaughters, Cortney (Chris) Bates, Ashlea Lax, Sommer Lax, and Karlie Lax; great grandchildren, Kinsley, Colton, Marcellus, Kingston, and  Malachi; and sister, Jackie (Allen) Lewis of Holmesville; and a niece Lori; and three nephews, Chad, Todd and Darrell.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Deb Dobson.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
