Weaver, Donald L.

ORRVILLE — Donald L. Weaver, age 92, of Orrville, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Avalon at Lewis Center, OH, where he has resided for the last year.

Don was born in 1930, in Orrville, to Willis and Edna Weaver, graduated from Orrville High School in 1948, and served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953, during the Korean War, stationed in Alaska.  He married Barbara J. Yehl in 1957, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Orrville and she survives.

He worked as a Pipe Maker for the Schantz Organ Company in Orrville for 50 years, retiring in 1996.

Don was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 282. He enjoyed Amateur Radio Operation and volunteering for Friendship Meals and MCC Connections.

In addition to his wife, Barb, he is survived by two daughters, Ann (Matthew) Barnes of Durham, NC and Laura Fratianne of Columbus; five grandchildren, Evan, Celia and Maria Fratianne, and Riley and Piper Barnes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant daughter, Lee Ann Weaver.

Friends may call on June 29, 2022, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 11:30 pm to 12:45 pm.

Memorial services will follow on the 29th, at 1:00 pm, with Deacon Tom Peshek officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
