Shanks, George Ronald “Ron”
ORRVILLE — George Ronald “Ron” Shanks, age 70, of Orrville, died Sunday, July 24, 2022, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Ron was born on September 7, 1951, in Akron, to the late John and Chessie (Looney) Shanks, he graduated from Walton (WV) High School in 1969, and worked as a pattern maker, retiring from Ford Motor Company in Brook Park in 2008.
He was an avid outdoorsman and will also be remembered for playing softball in his younger years.
Surviving are two daughters, Traci L. Shanks of Orrville and Lori R. Shanks of Wooster; ex-wife, Delores “Dee” (Joe) Spinks of Orrville; sister, Frances Justice of Spencer, WV; a best friend, Brian (Kelly) Bruce of Navarre; and his long-time nurse aide, Kim; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Shanks; twin brother, John D. Shanks; and sister, Theresa Shanks.
Private family services will be held at the family cemetery at a later date.

George R, I’m truly grateful to have know you and to have been friends for so long. I will always remember our hunting and fishing trips together and those all night poker games. Your passing will leave a void in my heart. Rest in peace my friend.
