“Here comes Johnny Appleseed …” Festival returns to Apple Creek July 29-30

APPLE CREEK   The Johnny Appleseed Festival is this weekend with everyone’s favorite games, activities and food on the schedule at town park.

Inflatables, chicken barbecue, live music, princess contest, pie-eating contest, goat poop bingo (yes, goat poop bingo) parade, firefighters’ team water barrel fight, pony rides and more are all planned, according to the schedule available on the festival’s Facebook page.

The two-day festival is Friday, July 29 and Saturday, July 30. The parade is 1 p.m. July 30. Johnny Appleseed will be portrayed by Dale Smith. Inflatables and DJ/Emcee Alan Sands begin at 4 p.m. July 29 and noon July 30. Chicken Barbecue and carryout by Paul Miller is offered on site until they run out.
