ORRVILLE  In her first year of business, Alisha Musser experiences it time and time again at her new shop along W High Street.

Customers open the door and begin to walk around. They browse, land on certain items, and their faces light up.

“’This reminds me of my Grandma’,” Musser said. “That’s what I hear a lot of my customers say.”

Familiarity brings comfort. Musser, a 1984 Orrville High School graduate along with her husband, Tim, a fellow Orrville grad, opened Farmhouse Finds & Country Décor earlier this year at a convenient location in Orrville in the West High Plaza next to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and not far from Buehler’s and Ace Hardware.

The couple, along with help from their grown children, grandchildren and friends, has been busy filling the store with a mixture of old and new.

Musser loves to decorate and while she has especially delighted in decorating the shop inside and out for the holidays, she has enjoyed picking out antiques and putting artwork, crafts and new items on display to help shoppers choose items for gifts and to decorate their own homes.

In partnership with fellow Orrville business, Journey in Time, 1314 Wadsworth Road, the stores are both having Christmas Open Houses on Nov. 5. The special event is to help get the word out and will feature door prizes, a drawing and refreshments. Follow “Farmhouse Finds & Country Décor” on Facebook for the latest information as well as updated photos of some of Musser’s favorite finds that she has for sale.
