Gene R. Stuckey, 87

WOOSTER — Gene R. Stuckey, age 87, of Wooster, died Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Wooster Community Hospital, following a period of declining health.
Gene was born on February 23, 1935, in Smithville, Ohio, to the late Irvin and Edith (Griner) Stuckey and graduated from Smithville High School in 1953.  He married Judith Albert on August 27, 1977, at Browns Chapel Church in Clarksburg, OH.
He worked as a construction worker for most of his life and eventually became the Forman and then Vice President of the company. Gene was also a volunteer firefighter for Orrville.
Gene was a member of an archery club and was in a bowling and golf leagues. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing baseball/softball at Orr Park in his younger years. Gene was a wonderful carpenter. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Judith, surviving are nine children, Suzanne (Arnold Neal) Stuckey, Richard (Jo) Stuckey, Terri (David) Zook, Lori Marthey, Chris Stuckey, Barb (Mark) Gryniewski, John Stuckey, Mary Olp, and Kathy (John) Barnes; seven grandchildren, Christopher Stuckey, Matt (Sunshine) Stuckey, Jenn (Adam) Calvo, Robert (Amanda) Marthey, Will (Megan) Morrison, Leslie Wilson, and Nate Olp; and seven great grandchildren, Maddox, MJ, Evelyn, Weston, Lydia, Grant, and Garret.
He was preceded in death by son, Gene Stuckey, Jr.; brothers, Stan and Don Stuckey; father, Irvin Stuckey; and mother, Edith (Frank) Mack.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on November 19, 2022, at East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, 7207 Chippewa Road, Orrville, with Pastor Brad Kelley officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at the East Chippewa Church Cemetery.
