Carolyn Lehman Brown, 85

Carolyn Lehman Brown, 85, of Louisville, KY passed away Sunday, October 2,
surrounded by her loving family. She was born Dec. 5, 1936 in Orrville, OH to
Merl and Florence (Jenny) Lehman.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard; daughter and son-in-law
Kimberley Brown and Todd Terry of Huntsville, AL; daughter and son-in-law Cindy
and Dave Brown Kinloch of Louisville, KY; granddaughter Lydia Kinloch of New
York, NY; grandson Amos Kinloch of Louisville; and sister Barbara Ptuyac of
Huntsville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Lolita Lehman
Ervin.
She lived in more than a dozen cities throughout her life, finally retiring to
Louisville to be near her grandchildren. Some of her most exciting years were
spent in Switzerland when Richard’s United Nations job led them to Geneva for six
years. There she quickly found a home working with the American Women’s Club.
As tireless globetrotters Carolyn and Dick loved spending any free minute
traveling the world and seeing new places, visiting all 50 states and almost 60
countries.
Genuine, loving, and loyal, Carolyn was always interested in other people and
tirelessly kept up with far-away family members. Forever learning as both a
history buff and scholar, she had an amazing memory for dates and events,
remembering most any occasion no matter how small.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 1:30
p.m. at All Peoples, a Unitarian Universalist Congregation at 4936 Brownsboro Road,
Louisville, KY 40222.
