Paul R. Richard, 82
Paul R. Richard, 82, of Wooster, Ohio, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, November 25, 2022. He spent his last days at home surrounded by family.
He was born September 7, 1940 to the late Joseph and Sarah (Graber) Richard. On July 28, 1960, he married the love of his life Joanne Begly, who survives. They had 62 years together.
Paul accepted the Lord as his Savior when he was a teenager and he said “It was the best decision he ever made.” He lived out his faith by doing whatever he could to help others and easily accepted new people into the family. He loved spending time with family, wintering in Florida, listening to music, and watching and playing sports. He was quick to smile, had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He was a dairy farmer all his life, and was a member and trustee of Chester Christian Fellowship for many years.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by Janice (Stan) Amstutz of Wooster, and grandchildren Jennifer (Gary) Falb, Scott (Stephanie) Amstutz, Lisa Amstutz.
David (Irene) Richard of Wooster, and grandchildren David Aron Richard, Jonathan (Rolanda) Richard, Loretta (Seth) Martin, Julie (Josh) Chupp, Jim (Mary Beth) Richard, Matt (Monica) Richard, Mary, Rose and Katie Richard
Gary (Ann) Richard of Warsaw, IN and grandchildren Tim (Kaitlyn) Richard, Jo (Aaron) Schmidt, Katie Richard, Caleb (Sky) Richard
Susan (John) Brubaker of Plymouth, OH, and grandchildren Laura (Brendan) Pittman, Emily (Michael) Sanders, Austin (Caroline) Brubaker, Janelle, Derek and Jolynn Brubaker
His family also includes 33 great grandchildren, and siblings Elmer Richard of Creston, Anna Gehman and Ruth Steiner of Kidron, Martha Steiner and Junior (Naomi) Richard of Wooster, and brother-in-law Marvin Hilty of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Paul Dean Richard and his sisters Helen Steiner and Mary Hilty, brothers-in-law, Chester Steiner, John Gehman, Wilford Steiner and Charles Steiner; and sister-in-law Eunice Richard.
He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Friends and family may call on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Chester Christian Fellowship, 4730 Rutt Road, Wooster, OH 44691. The funeral service will be held at Chester Christian Fellowship on Tuesday at 11am. A private family burial will precede the service. Spidell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
