ORRVILLE — Nevin Arthur Grosjean, age 82, of Orrville, died Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton, following a period of declining health.
Nevin was born on September 9, 1940, in Apple Creek, OH, to the late Arthur and Martha (Herman) Grosjean and married Sharon Burkey on June 8, 1974. Sharon died on September 28, 2022.
He graduated from Waynedale High School in 1958 and worked as a machinist for Westinghouse/Rosemount in Orrville and Rayco in Wooster. He was a hard worker and provided for his family.
In his earlier years, he built and raced stock cars at the Wayne County Speedway. Later, as a hobby, he and his son, Keith, built many engines and cars together that they both enjoyed. Nevin also enjoyed model railroading as a hobby and going out to eat. He cherished his family, especially spending time with his wife, Sharon, and granddaughter, Avery, who was the light of his life.
Surviving are his son, Keith (Lisa) Grosjean of Orrville; daughter, Angela (Larry) Reamy of Houston, TX; special granddaughter, Avery Grosjean of Orrville, as well as three other grandchildren, Adam Grosjean of ID, Chelsea Murphey and Paige Murphey, both of TX; a great grandson, Bowen Loring of TX; and two sisters, Shirley Lang of Medina and Hazel (Howard) Calame of Orrville.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, Joanne Grosjean who passed away in 1992; two sons, Brian and Jeff Grosjean; three brothers, Paul, Wayne and Merle Grosjean; and sister, Ruth Ann Tschiegg.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, with Pastor Christopher Harley officiating.
