Jacob R. Coblentz, 83

Jacob R. Coblentz, 83, of 8286 Fountain Nook Road, Apple Creek, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at his home.

He was born in Holmes County on September 24, 1939 to the late Rudy J. and Mary Ann (Miller) Coblentz and on November 15, 1962 he married Freda Yoder. She survives.
He retired from farming and a pallet shop. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and he was ordained a deacon on April 26, 1985.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 7 children, Mary Ann of the home, Clara (John) Alexander of Nevada, Robert (Clara) Coblentz of Millersburg, John (Katie Mae) Coblentz of Apple Creek, Adrian (Mary) Coblentz of Fredericksburg, Ada Mae Miller of Shreve, and Amanda Coblentz of Fredericksburg; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Andy R. (Sarah) Coblentz; and a sister, Amanda Coblentz.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Eli, and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 9:00 am at the former Maysville Fabric Store, 10476 Harrison Road, Maysville, with Bishop Martin J. Yoder officiating. Burial will follow in Maysville Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 5:00 pm on Friday and anytime on Saturday. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
